STDs (Sexually Transmitted Diseases) are bacteria, viruses and parasites that are transmitted from one person to another primarily during sexual intercourse. STDs can infect the penis, the vagina, the anus, the throat and even the eyes. Certain STDs can also cause symptoms in places other than the sexual organs. For example, Syphilis can result in a rash that covers the whole body including the palms and the soles. In fact, more worryingly, many STDs can infect a person and stay completely invisible without causing any symptoms (also known as asymptomatic infections). These cases are particularly challenging as patients do not even know that they have been infected, and therefore do not get tested and treated. They then not only potentially suffer serious long term complications caused by the infection, but they can also unknowingly pass the infection onto others
The rapid finger prick test generates results in 20 minutes or shorter, greatly reducing the anxiety of waiting for test results compared to traditional tests. However, if the rapid finger prick test reveals patient to be positive for HIV, a confirmatory laboratory test has to be done
STD screening is recommended for sexually active adults, regardless of whether the
individual is experiencing symptoms or not. It is also suitable for individuals who are starting a new sexual or couples who are getting married.
HIV is a virus that damages the immune system. The immune system helps the body fight off infections. Untreated HIV infects and kills CD4 cells, which are a type of immune cell called T cells. Over time, as HIV kills more CD4 cells, the body is more likely to get various types of infections and cancers. HIV is transmitted through bodily fluids that include: -blood -semen -vaginal and rectal fluids -breast milk The virus doesn’t spread in air or water, or through casual contact. HIV is a lifelong condition and currently there is no cure, although many scientists are working to find one. However, with medical care, including treatment called antiretroviral therapy, it’s possible to manage HIV and live with the virus for many years.
HIV PrEP is suitable for individuals who do not have HIV but are at high risks of contracting the virus, such as injection drug users. HIV PrEP involves taking medication daily to prevent the virus from establishing a permanent infection. The medication’s effectiveness depends on the consistency of consumption, i.e. daily. Since HIV PrEP only protects against HIV, other precautions have to be taken to prevent against other STDs.
HIV PEP is suitable for individuals suspected of HIV exposure and is most effective within 72 hours from said exposure. HIV PEP involves prescribing of 3-course Antiretroviral medications and/or combining with therapy to patient for a month.
Our team of professional medical staff respects your privacy and we keep all information strictly confidential. No personal information will be recorded in any way and patient will receive the test results confidentially.

The test detects specific antibodies in your bloodstream, oral fluid and/or urine that are only produced when a patient is infected with HIV. These antibodies are produced naturally by the body and they attach themselves to the virus to try and destroy it. A presence of the antibodies in the body indicates the presence of HIV.
